I look forward to this time of year with great anticipation. Not only has baseball season officially opened, but we are diligently preparing for our 18th annual User's Conference in Key West, Florida, May 6th - 8th. Before I started Swearingen Software, I had the pleasure of attending an Apple User's Conference. Even though it was in the early 1980s, I was very impressed with the nature of the conference and especially the entertainment provided at night. I made a promise to myself that if I ever started a company, that I would hold the best user's conferences in the industry, and for 17 straight years now, the annual User's Conference has been the highlight of our year, not just for Swearingen Software, but also for our clients.
One of the most important things is our daily brainstorming sessions. Since our inception, our software has been built largely by these sessions. The microphone is passed to each and every user, who makes a suggestion of what they would like to see in the software. After everyone has made their suggestion, the users vote on the idea on a scale of 1-10. Anything with a cumulative vote of 7.5 or greater is automatically placed in the next version of the software. In most cases, most requests with a score greater than 5 are also included in these requests. What other company allows the users to determine not only the direction of the software, but the company as well? We have said this many times: Being a client of Swearingen Software is like being on our board of directors, helping to shape and determine the future of Swearingen Software.
This year, the theme is “Discover the Keys to RISynergy”, and we have plenty of new things to show and discuss. Look here in the near future for information on our new capabilities and features, as we increase the depth and quality of the best Radiology Information System available today.
