Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE)

Swearingen Software supports the IHE (Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise) Technical Framework. IHE is a joint initiative of leading radiology organizations that brings together the users and developers of healthcare information and imaging systems to advance data integration by removing the barriers to optimal patient care. Standards-based integration solutions, as the ones IHE defines, are also more flexible, longer-lived and easier and less expensive to maintain than proprietary methods. When vendors adopt the IHE Integration Profiles, they take a step beyond claiming conformance to standards to announcing real world value to institutions adopting the standards-based infrastructure through faster, more efficient, less expensive and more successful integration now and into the future. Currently Swearingen Software is pursuing and implementing the IHE standard in all of its software.
